In order to be successful using forums to do viral marketing there are some things that are required.

Do Your Homework: Prior to joining any forum, you must do some research.

1. Join relevant forums that are in some way related to the promotion’s primary sales market. For example, someone involved with a health related product, many types of forums could apply….everything from holistic medicine to stay-at-home moms.

2. Choose popular forums. There is no point in wasting your time and energy on forums with few members and few posts. Page raking and the amount of active members are two good ways to check for this.

3. Choose forums that allow sig tags. If it’s possible read the rules before joining and pay attention to them. Your time is important, too. It is better to find out that a forum doesn’t allow posts with sig tags before you go to the time and trouble of joining.

After You Have Joined: OK…you have chosen two or three forums that meet your requirements…now what?

1. Keep your sig tag short and update it regularly. The ideal thing is to limit yourself to one link, preferably to your main website.

2. Never create posts that are nothing more than an advertisement. This all but a universal rule and only displays the marketers lack of experience if he does so. At best this kind of post will be deleted by the monitors….at worst, it is grounds for being banned.

3. Work the room. Be an active member on the forum. Plan to spend at least an hour each day there and take the time to get to know the users. Take the time to introduce yourself with intelligent questions depending upon the forum’s topic.

As a marketer becomes a regular member, they will hopefully develop a good reputation and without saying a word about their promotion, those who are interested in their product will approach them.

There are so many success stories you will hear about businesses making it good on the internet. In order to understand this post, you need to understand what I mean by static traffic. In this case, I am using the word static in the form, Fixed; stationary. Physics. Of or relating to bodies at rest or forces that balance each other. The purpose of static traffic is to give your website consistency in the marketing and advertising arenas.

I get many phone call from new clients and the first thing they say is I see your ads posted all over the internet. How do you do it? That my friend is what I like to call static traffic with consistency. First off, I believe in my products and services and use them as well. I am dedicated to make sure I get the word out about my products and services consistently. Meaning that I promote my products daily.

If I know that I normally run my ads at 6:00 am every morning but I have a meeting on one day at 7:00am, then I post my ads at 5:00am. I have no excuse to not posting my ads daily unless I just woke up to a Thousand Dollar sale. Yes, it has happened but it is not the norm.

A great example of static traffic is forums. Forums have become a great tool for static traffic. Most forums allow you to use two signature files. When you create a post or reply to a post, your signature file showing links to two of your website is included in the post. Members viewing your post will click on your link to view your site and that my friend is static traffic. Now, in order to create consistency, it is best to post daily in several areas of the forum. Posting once a month will not bring you consistency thus you will not have the static traffic consistency for the desired effect.

I have been online since 2000 but did not take my online business serious until three years ago. I have been a member of a very popular traffic exchange and I constantly have to check to see if I had traffic or not going to my website. Most times I had none. This is part two on a series of traffic strategies that was discussed by Russell Brunson,recently at one of his seminars. This one is a special treat since he explained that he learned this technique several months ago.

This traffic strategy is called Anabolic SEO. It should be noted that Russell has surrounded himself with a team to help breakdown a massive amount of information in five simple steps or less. With that said, his team went through tons of courses which consisted of 166 DVD’s, 47 CD`s, 36 Webinars, 4,800 Pages and an investment of over $12,497. They were able to break it down to five simple steps.

Step One: Set up your blog and when you post to your blog, put your keywords in the blog title. This will cover 95% of what you need for onsite seo. Pick one keyword per blog post.

Step Two: What keywords to use? SEOBook.com has a great keyword tool you can use for free. Once you find your keywords you want to use, go down the list and make a blog post each day with a different keyword.

Step Three: How hard to win? At SEOMOZ.org, they have a keyword difficulty tool that shows you how hard it is to rank with certain keywords. If a keyword has a percentile of 85%, it will be hard to get a good search engine ranking. Better to use keywords with a 50 to 60 percentile.

Step Four: Submit Articles, You can get free article submission software at iamwishlist.com. Write press releases and post on blogs. You can get a cool tool called comment sniper at commentsniper.com. Comment sniper alerts you when a blog you are following has a new post. You can go in and post your comment linking back to your page. Some bloggers have a large following and when their readers read their new content and then see your comment, they will click on your link. It does need to be a decent comment.

Step Five: This is the one you’ve been waiting for. This step alone will create 300 to 500 backlinks fast and their from high page rank sites. Create software from your blog post. Use an eBook generator. Take your blog post and put it in an eBook generator and it shoots out an exe file and now it becomes software. Next you create a pad file and the pad file is what you’re going to submit. You can create a pad file at asp-shareware.org/pad/padgen.php. Submit pad file to software directories.
